Y que no llega el rescate

Ex girlfriend. Berlin. 2023
The idea of this project comes from a poem, from a feeling trapped in time. A feeling of help not heard, a feeling without a voice. That can be perceived in any stressful situation of a beeing. An abstract translation of how waiting can immobilize you and make feelings become an eternity.
Regarding the context, when i wrote the poem, we were experiencing and patiently ob- serving the earthquakes developed in Turkey and Syria on February 6 of this present year, millions of people buried under the rocks waiting for rescue. This idea was transformed into the search for the experimentation of the feeling of loneliness, fear and anxiety in
the face of a traumatic situation. Mutating into the idea of solidified fluidity, through the visuality of something in motion that petrifies.
Through this installation I will experience the relationship between feeling and matter, a feeling is something intense that we experience in a moment, sometimes it goes away, sometimes it comes back. I want to capture that moment of feeling through natural ele- ments.
The decision to use textiles and plaster, comes from cutting fluidity and mummifying a state, which comes from the earth and is in constant transformation, like feelings. The mixture of materials and media gives a representation of the unconscious state, the world of dreams and the distortion of the mind.
